The Midvale Fort Union Corridor Study seeks to address and enhance mobility, identity, safety, character, aesthetics, and economic development. This plan will further refine its analysis by subdividing the corridor into three distinct segments, exploring the nuance of each area’s character. This segmentation allows for context-sensitive insights and enables tailored recommendations in later phases of the process that will guide future discussions in Midvale.

This existing conditions analysis is a multi-faceted exploration that examines the urban design, land use patterns, active transportation networks, vehicular infrastructure, and market conditions that shape the corridor and project area today. Identifying existing strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities will inform design recommendations that enhance the aesthetics and functionality of the urban environment and transportation network shown in later phases of the process.
