Project Overview

The Spring Lane Adaptive Re-Use Plan will provide the City of Holladay with a high-level set of options about how the former Spring Lane Elementary School campus could be reused as a public park. If approved by City Council, the property would likely continue to be owned by Granite School District (GSD) but the City would build, operate, and maintain the park as part of a potential lease agreement with GSD.

The City is interested in exploring the addition of new facilities or activities that are complimentary to the surrounding neighborhood. The project team has examined the site context, met with area property owners and key stakeholders, and learned from survey respondents in order to develop a conceptual plan that creates a meaningful space for Holladay residents and visitors.

In April, the project team asked for public input on two concepts for the site. We learned that there is strong community support for maintaining the site as a park and public open space, and that the community would like to see walking paths, pickleball courts, and playground equipment for all ages added to the site. The community supports maintaining the multi-use sports fields and wants to preserve or reuse aspects of the site that recognize its educational history. Results from that survey are available below.
